Body Image

Today's standards of beauty and attractiveness are unrealistic. It's not a coincidence that body image disturbances among today's youth are widespread, contagious and toxic. This seminar will provide educators with an understanding of body image, how the media operates, resources to empower students, and tools to teach educators and parents to help their children build a lifelong healthy self-image.

Bully Prevention

As an adult, one of the best ways we can help stop bullying is to be educated about, and sensitive to, the issue. Research shows that the effects of bullying can last well into adulthood. Whether you are a concerned parent, an educator or school employee, or someone else who works with children, this seminar will provide many strategies and techniques you can employ to help.

Comprehensive School Counseling Program

Learn about the characteristics that must be part of your Comprehensive School Counselor Program to assure that it is institutionalized in your school and in your district. Participants will gain ideas and skills for working with administrators, governing board members, teachers, parents and the community to assure the institutionalization of the Counseling Program and the Counselor Role.

Discretion at the Work Place: Resolving and Preventing Conflict

Step-by-step techniques to build relationships, solve problems and deal proactively with incivility and/or conflicts within the work place. This seminar also provides an overview of kindness as an act of responsible independence and focuses on perception, morale, civility, sensitivity, and community at the work place.

Ethics and Civic Virtues

An overview of how common values, such as belief in equality and a diverse society, respect for the views of others and concern for those who come after us are associated with ethical concepts of personal accountability. Includes information about adding ethical components to subjects, assignments, community discussions and more.

Self-Care: Taking Care of YOU so You Can Take Care of Them

Stress is an integral part of the job for most educators. This session will identify stressors in our daily lives, discuss ways to prevent stress and show ways to take care of the person who takes care of everyone else.

Values at the Work Place

An overview of courage, responsibility, honesty, trust, kindness, civility, fairness, respect, and tolerance. Meant to introduce basic character-education concepts and stimulate discussion about "gray" areas of ethics and problem-solving at the work place.

ASCA U Specialist Trainings

Earning an ASCA U Specialist designation is self-paced, online professional development. You'll read a series of books and articles, view/listen to webinars and/or podcasts and take a series of quizzes on the material. You have one year following purchase to complete your Specialist course. ASCA U Specialist designations are valid for five years.

ASCA National Model and RAMP Coaching

Partner with an ASCA National Model coach who can help answer your questions and begin working toward implementing the ASCA National Model in your school. Or perhaps your school is close to or interested in applying for the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) but you need some extra help. Team up with a RAMP coach to discover what you need to do to put it all together and apply for RAMP.

Districtwide ASCA National Model Training

ASCA offers a districtwide ASCA National Model training and implementation program for all district school counselors to include consultation, professional development, program implementation and districtwide program evaluation and improvement of a CSCP. The training consists of six full-day workshops presented over the course of two school years and is designed to specifically meet the district’s unique needs based on school-specific data.
