Speaking

Ideas Worth Sharing

Thoughtful, research-informed presentations that invite audiences to think deeply, see possibilities, and strengthen the work they do for students.

Speaking has always been an extension of the work — an opportunity to bring research, experience, and practical ideas into conversation with others who care about students and schools.

Drawing from decades in education, school counseling, counselor preparation, leadership, and research, Susan Rardon Rose offers presentations that connect professional knowledge with the realities educators and counselors encounter every day.

Whether the setting is a conference, professional organization, university, school district, or smaller professional gathering, the goal remains the same: to leave audiences with something worth thinking about, talking about, and carrying back into their work.

Conversations I Bring into the Room

           WHOLE-CHILD SCHOOL COUNSELING
Exploring what it means to place the whole child at the center of school counseling, educational practice, and student support.

SCHOOL COUNSELOR LEADERSHIP &  PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY
Examining the counselor's role as a mental health professional, advocate, leader, collaborator, and agent of meaningful change within schools.

           BELONGING, CHARACTER & RESILIENCE
Considering how schools intentionally cultivate the relationships, dispositions, and environments that help students grow and thrive.

GRIEF, CHANGE & THE HUMAN SIDE OF SCHOOLS
Helping educators and school counselors think thoughtfully about grief, loss, transition, cultural and social change, and the experiences students bring through the schoolhouse door.

And sometimes, the conversation begins somewhere else.

Presentations can be developed around emerging issues, research, or the particular interests and needs of an audience.

Ways to Connect

           CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS
Professional and academic conference sessions grounded in research and practice.

           KEYNOTES & FEATURED SESSIONS
Broader presentations designed to engage an audience around a central idea or shared purpose.

           PROFESSIONAL CONVERSATIONS
Panels, facilitated discussions, roundtables, and other settings where dialogue is as important as presentation.

            VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS
Webinars and online sessions for organizations and professional communities.

Experience Behind the Conversation

Susan's speaking and presentation experience has developed across more than two decades of work in education and counselor preparation. Her professional presentations have grown from research, university teaching, school counseling, program leadership, professional association involvement, and the development of practical resources for educators and school counselors.

That experience brings both an academic and practitioner perspective to the room. Research matters, but so does what happens when professionals return to school on Monday morning.
